Each trap is constructed with rust-resistant galvanized 12-gauge wire mesh that provides long-lasting protection for your property from damage-causing animal pests.
Safety for both people and animals is always a priority when designing a trap. The Large 1-Door Animal Trap is no exception. The spring-loaded door ensures the animal remains securely inside until its time of release and helps to prevent escapes while the large handle guard minimizes the chance of contact between you and the animal during transport. Inside the trap the edges are smoothed to prevent injuries to the animal during its time in the trap.
Choose a bait that will encourage the target animal to enter the trap. For example use cantaloupe for groundhogs fish for cats or marshmallows for raccoons. Place the bait towards the back of the trap to encourage animals to enter the trap fully.
Set the live trap in or near the area where you’ve noticed pest animal activity. You can camouflage the trap by placing twigs and leaves on top. You can also leave an unset baited trap for a few days to entice the animal.
Both hot and cold conditions can be harmful to the trapped animal and remaining in a live cage trap can cause stress to the animal. Check your traps daily to ensure humane treatment and a quick release back into the wild.
